WA FOREST IN YUNNAN CHINA

The WA are one of the few ethnic groups in China who speak a Mon-Khmer language,(austro-asiatic language), they are 400 000 people living in southern Lincang prefecture in southern Yunnan at the boarder with Myanmar.
ONDING village has kept his old flavor, under the guidance of a governmental tourism project that intended to keep the village and the culture of those WA people intact, 100 families live in this 300 years old village.
YANG AI NA, the 74 years old chief of the village organized for us the recording sessions that took place in his home, he inherited his role as a chief and shaman healer from his father and represents the 6 th generation.

3 YANG AI NA, the 74 years old chief of the village and shaman healer reciting WA mantras in a small room dedicated to shamanic incantations, for the sake of a young man who is in trouble at home .
