MONGOL OIRAT & TUVA NORTHERN XINJIANG CHINA

The majority of the 10 millions Mongol people live in China (6 millions), in XINJIANG province they are mostly OIRAT, a Mongolian sub-group of 550 000 people, spread over Mongolia, China, and Russian Siberia where they are called KALMOUK. THE OIRATs are 4 or 5 tribes, one of them are the TORGUT, presented here with the TOPCHUR lute.
