LAO CHAMPASAK SHADOW PUPPETS IN LAOS

Like so many old popular cultures, war and modern times cultural codes make them disappear, but a frenchman called Yves Bernard had the chance in Champasak city ( a few kilometers away from WAT POU) to meet the right person, in order to revive the local traditional shadow puppets called PALATEU. They ve taken the puppets and instruments out of boxes hidden since 1975 and recreated the lost tradition , reshaping with old and new members, puppets and instruments, the shadow puppets show and his orchestra, involving 14 men:
